Motorola MOTO MT716

The Motorola smartphone manufacturing engine never really sits quite. We all know that they were the ones who pioneered the Android smartphone market and now seems to be the turn of another brand new operating system this one is called the OPhone (OPhone is a mobile operating system running on the Linux kernel. It has been modified for local Chinese markets by China Mobile’s OPhone Software Developers Network.) and Motorola has already released the MT716 smartphone running on this Linux Kernel based operating system in China. The new smartphone comes with OPhone OS v2.0 on board and was designed specifically for China Mobile’s airwaves, Motorola notes on its website.
“MOTO MT716 ‘Extreme Smart’ is made especially for China Mobile’s high-speed 3G network. Perfection starts with intelligence, and MT716 provides both the most intelligent experience and exquisite quality,” the company notes.
The new mobile phone was pushed to the high-end of the market, being packed with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display (boasting a FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) resolution) complemented by an 8-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and 720p HD video capture capabilities, and more.
As far as the exteriors are concerned the new device looks very much like the popular Motorola DROID, though it sports a quite different sliding QWERTY keyboard. Plenty of high-end features have been packed inside this classic from Moto; it boasts a hefty Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, GB15629.11 (WAPI), Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, USB 2.0 High Speed, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, TD-SCDMA 2010/2025 and GPRS/EDGE Class 10, and HSUPA connectivity options. The phone packs a TI OMAP3430 processor inside which is at par with most of the front end processors that power the smartphones of today, which is indeed well clocked in at 600 MHz and complemented by 512 MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM. MOTO MT716 also comes with a microSDHC memory card slot for additional storage space, as well as with assisted GPS, and with a 0.3 megapixels (640 x 480) front-facing camera.
